We absolutely LOVE hearing from those who stop by, so please feel free to leave us a comment and say hi! :)

Right above this post you will see Chris & Jen's "Twitters"  Twitter's website describes itself as a service for friends, family and co-workers to communicate and stay connected through the exchange of quick, frequent answers to one simple question: What are you doing?

And frequent they are!  We update our twitters several times a day, and have found it a GREAT way to share the fun, interesting, and sometimes crazy things that happen throughout the day that aren't big enough for a blog post of their own.  There are often times links in our twitters that will share a quick photo we snapped on our phone of what's going on as well.  You can scroll through our recent twitters by clicking the "read more" button below each twitter, OR you can follow us directly by heading over to the twitter website and signing up for your own free account!  You can read and upate your own twitter from the web, or send and receive updates through text messaging on your phone!

Enjoy the blog, and come back and visit us again soon!

If you are feeling nostalgic and want to visit the old blog you can always go check it out here

Earlier today I took Aiden & Bella on fieldtrip to Explorit Science Museum in Davis. My friend Tezra invited us to join her home school group on the fieldtrip. The museum is so cool with lots of hands on experiements and activities for the kids.

I have more photos, I hope to blog soon, but I had to quickly share this photo.  This is my point of view most times when we are in groups with Aiden.  He is so shy, until he warms up.  That I don't even think about it anymore, I can just expect him to be close to my side, either holding onto my pant leg or my hand.  I was taking photos of the Bella and Tezra's kids exploring and looked down through my lens and had to record this moment.

This is SOOOOO Aiden, holding my hand, looking up at me with a look in his eye like, "Get me the HE*L out of here." haha

I know this stage won't last forever, and it will be quicker than I'd like that he will be "over me" and be embarrased by my sheer presence.  SO I'm glad I"ll have this photo to look back on to remember the days that he couldn't leave my side. :)

Well I'm not... but Bella has been quite a bit lately!  We have officially been working on potty training Bella this last week.  So far so good!!  For months she has been talking about wanting to go on the potty, but never was actually interested in GOING on the potty.  But this last week, I think I've found the key to her success... she LOVES soap, washing her hands and lotion!!  (such a girly girl!)

With the boys it was always a treat of chocolate, or stickers.  But with Bella, the key to her heart is scented soap, and lotions!  If given the opportunity, she would be in the bathroom all day washing her hands and slathering lotion all over, then coming out and having all of us smelly the yummy new scent on her hands.

So last week, I told her, she can wash her hands every time she goes in the potty.  Guess what... it's worked! Every time she has a successful trip to the bathroom, she washes her hands, sometimes puts on some lotion as well, then walks around to each family member announces her success, and put our her hands for everyone to smell.  Now out of context this may look odd, a 2 year old announcing she's gone "pee pee in the potty" and then puts her hands out for everyone to smell. haha  But all the boys are such good sports about it, and patiently applaud her success and tell her how nice her hands smell! :)

Our family is well on our way to being diaper free soon enough!!  You know what I realized yesterday... it's been over 10 years that we have been consistently changing diaper in the Stewart home!!!I'm so ready to no longer have to change diapers!

I love how she puts her feet straight out to read a book as she waits.

I can't believe how quickly time has flown by.  Kapri is already 9 months old!!  It seems like just yesterday that I was just meeting Brad & Lauren for their maternity photos!!  I get so excited when I get to see this family again.  They are so much fun, Kapri is just adorable, and sweet, and I love catching up with Lauren and Brad!  Brad we missed you this time, but I hope you guys got LOTS of deer and didn't freeze too much on your hunt! :)

Enjoy your teaser; the rest of the photos will be ready shortly!

This little bear is SO cute! Lauren told me that it was a gift for Brad this Christmas; it was made from his grandmothers mink coat that she wore often.  I was so excited to take some photos of Kapri with it for Brad!

Kapri can now hold on to furniture and stand.  She was SO PROUD of herself showing off her new tricks to me!!

We take a few photos each time we get together to show how much she's grown.  This one is always one of my favorites to take!

Look at Kapri go with the Crawling!

Lauren, you look fabulous rockin' the dark hair, I LOVE it!!

After all that playing, Kapri was done, and ready for a nap.

Chris and I have been working and planning for an exciting workshop!! It's a workshop for YOU! This is not for professional photographers, but for moms & dads and those that love to capture life as it happens. Those that want to know how to control their cameras so that their photos look like what they had envisioned in their head, when they clicked the shutter!

Over the last several months we have had more and more people calling, emailing, facebooking, and twittering us with questions about their new cameras. These questions have come from Moms & Dads who bought a Digital SLR, in the hopes of recording those spontaneous moments in their lives beautifully. (An SLR is one of those big fancy cameras, that you can change the lenses on; for those that don't know what that term means).

We can't be at your home 24/7, photographing you and your family, and many of those special moments happen without warning, first steps, dad falling asleep with the kids reading bedtime stories, etc. We will still be here to photograph your family photos, and edit them and print them professionally. Because let's face it, you still need photos with all of you together.  The kids need photos with you in FRONT of the camera instead of behind it! ;) This workshop is for those moments between photo sessions, those moments that are unplanned, but just as special!

As many of you know, I began my journey down the road to becoming a Sacramento portrait photographer as nothing more than a mom with a camera, wanting to make my day to day photos of my kids look as beautiful and awesome as I could.

I wanted those special moments to be recorded as they happen, in the spontaneous moments of life, just as beautifully as I remembered them.  I taught myself through reading every book/manual/online forum I could get my hands on. It was a constant process of trial and error.  I would look at magazines and books and try and figure out how those photos were achieved.  I would try out what I thought would give my photo that look, use a whole roll of film and wait for it to come back from being developed and see if what I tried was successful.  (remember the old days of waiting!?!?!)

My passion in professional photography has always been to provide other's that same gift.  Photos that convey that passion, moment, spontaneous laugh or tear as they happen.  Photos that serve as a visual memory of our lives.

And that is why we are going to be offering this workshop!  We want to help all of our friends, and clients who want to capture life through photos, between their photo sessions.

We are planning for the first workshop to be on a Saturday in January.  If you are interested in more information about the workshop, please send us an email at the address below.  We will have more information on the workshop rolling out in the next few weeks and want those of you interested, to be the firtst to know!!

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact us.  You can email us at workshops@jenstewartphotography.com
