I can't say enough how much I LOVE my "Watch Me Grow", Baby's 1st year collections!!!  I just love getting to come back several time through the year and seeing the same family I love and watching the baby's I grow so attached to grow up!!

So that being said, I have been anxiously awaiting this next session with Kapri and her parents!  I can't believe how much she's grown since her newborn session just a few months ago!!!

Brad & Lauren, thank you again for welcoming me into your home.  I so look forward to seeing you guys, and enjoyed visiting with you as Kapri went down for her nap!  The love that surrounds your family makes me smile, and warms my heart, every time I look at your photos and am with you!  Can't wait to see you guys again in a few months!!

And now on to sharing the photos!! :)

From the moment I walked in the door I was greeted with smiles and babbling from Kapri...... well that's not entirely true, Kapri only has eyes for her Daddy! :)

Remember this photo from last session??

I TOLD you she's grown!! :)

OH YEA, BATH TIME, nothing beats it!!

Well..... maybe chubby baby belly buttons! ;-)

But I know for a fact that snuggling a freshly bathed baby is the best feeling in the world!

Love that Daddy gave her a 'hawk!

Oh yeah, tummy time, that love hate relationship that all baby's have with it until they are able to crawl! haha

I love how Daddy's play completely differently with their babies than Mommy's do!

Nap time.... who can resist this sleeping angel???? I know one thing for sure, I sure can't!!! :)

Ladies and Gentlemen let me refresh your minds, and enlighten your senses.  Let me give your memory a sensory overload of goodness, the awesomeness of Daniel and Mary.  A week ago we ventured out to Wilson Vineyards, a beautiful, small venue that has class and style all its own, out in Clarksburg.  We never knew that this place even existed till now. With vineyards that surround almost the entire venue, it was strictly awesome! When Daniel and Mary had talked to us about the details of their wedding and the location, it was a match made in photo heaven.(yah I am laying it on thick with da cheese)  We could not have asked for SUCH a rad day, and better yet radder venue.  One of the cool things about their ceremony was that they got married out in the vineyards.  There is so much about both of them that made this day great.  Every time they were around each other, it was so genuine, you could feel the love in the air.  I'm not even joking.  You wanted both of them to be close all day and not let go of that moment.  Their families were so cool and loving and showed it.  When the groomsmen were finishing up getting ready, they all prayed over Daniel, and with his dad right behind him, his hand on his sons shoulder, and to hear the prayer that was coming out, ahhhhhhhhhh man i can't even explain it. After though Daniel and his dad hugged each other and I swear, I didn't want that moment to stop.  They are hugging and crying.  Both filled with Joy and Happiness.  The day was filled with moments like that.  Well enough of the chit chat, on with the pictures.  ENJOY ALL!!!

Of course we gots to start with the ringshots.

Cmon now..............dats da bomb!!!

Some little details.  Seriously, love the sandals.

So one of the bridesmaid's gave Mary something old, it was a penny, from her birth year, she taped it to the top of the sandal which I thought was really cool and different.

There she is

The dress is so beautiful.

Her mom getting ready to place the necklace on Mary.

She is so Beautiful!!

First meet.  LOVE THIS MOMENT!!

So after their first meeting, we were able to get access to go to the Port of Sacramento, which unless you know someone that works there, you won't be getting in, and it was a playground to shoot in.  I told both of them "Can you guys have your wedding here instead?"  Seriously would love to be able to go back there and shoot for a entire day.

Dude, seriously they are so much fun!!!!

One of my fav's!!!

Found these tagged up train cars in there as well.  Hey I like graffiti!!!

Love this shot Jen took!!

Now you know I have said that they are fun, but really, they ARE!!!

When we got back on the limo to head to the venue we were showing a few pics from the day so far.  I gave Jens camera to Daniel and he was checking out the goods!

Ok, funny, but almost bad situation.  We got to the venue but before it, there are these corn fields with HUGE haybail stacks about 30 ft high, and a dry field that looked like it was just cut.  So I want to get on top of it and shoot the wedding party.  I run.......jump onto the lower level, only to see my iphone fall out of my shirt pocket, and down between two stacks of haybails..OH MY FREEKIN GOSH ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!!!  after 20 minutes of digging around and cut up arms, I got it back.  But I love this shot on top of it though!!  It was worth it!!

The Ladies........

and the guys........

mmmmm.....mmmm.....mmmm.....mmmm.....mmmmmmmm!!!!

One of my favorite moments of the day.  The guys praying over Daniel.

They both are so happy!!!

As Daniel was saying his vows to Mary he started to cry.  It was such a awesome moment.

The kiss.  JEN's VIEW

My VIEW

Mary's Grandfather came to the wedding in his kilt and once they were married, played his bagpipes as they walked back down the isle.  So cool.  I want a kilt!!!

See another great moment, just before they were announced to their guests at the reception.

The father/daughter dance.

Daniel & Mary your day was so special and genuine, we didn't want the day to end.  Enjoy these pics and we can't wait to show you the rest.

Every year Jen's parents throw an all day extravaganza, which always has a theme to it.  One year it was Pirates day, another year was CLUE mystery party.  Its a awesome time not only for the kiddos, but the adults as well.  Nana and Papa put alot of time and preparation in to these and it really shows.  From transforming the backyard into a tomb, with explosives, to the inside of the house to a mysterious mansion, to a pirate ship and booty baried in the backyard.  (Yes I said BOOTY)  Its always a great time.  We end the nght everytime with a few movies our back projected on the side of their house.  The kiddos lay down on air mattresses, and have popcorn or other treats.

This year was INDIANA JONES THEME!!!  Who doesn't love Indiana Jones, and if you don't.... then where have you been???  One of my favorite series of all time!  They really out did themselves this year, with a tomb, map room, explosive boxes, a moat to cross over, and a ZIPLINE to cross the canyon.  Seriously like I said they outdid themselves this year.  And just to personalize it a bit, it wasn't Indiana Jones, it was officially named Indiana John's (Jen's dad's name).  They were sent a letter of distress from Indiana John inviting them to help him on his adventure, complete with a secreat message they had to decode!  Enough said, lets show the pictures.

We have some BIG news to announce!!!!

If you have been following Jen's or Chris' Twitter accounts or either of us on Facebook, you've seen we've been preparing for some BIG changes for Jen Stewart Photography, and the Stewart family!   If you haven't seen or heard about this...... let me fill you in.

As many of you know, Chris has been retaining his day job as we've been building up Jen Stewart Photography. Thanks to all of our wonderful clients, many who have become dear friends over the last several years, the photography has turned into a full time job for both of us.  It has become more and more clear that we needed to make a change with Chris' schedule.  He was working essentially 2 full time jobs, and it's begun to wear on him.  It has been our dream for some time now, to have Chris quit the day job and be able to focus his attention on our business.  We had hoped, and set a goal to begin moving in that direction within the next year.

Little did we know that God had his own plans for us!  We received notice about a month and a half ago, from his day job that they were offering voluntary buyouts to all senior clerks. After much prayer, and many late nights crunching numbers, we decided that this was our golden opportunity to see our dreams come true!!

We have been working hard these last several weeks to prepare for the transition, setting up a budget & setting up insurance (no fun) and figuring out how to use this opportunity to launch our business into the next stratosphere (super fun!!).

As of July 24th we will officially both be SELF-EMPLOYED and FULL TIME PHOTOGRAPHERS!!!!  That is exactly one month from today, OOOHHHH YEAH!!!!  Party at the Stewart's baby!!!!

We are both SO excited about what the future has in store for us, and our business!!!  And we realize that NONE of this would be possible without all of our amazing clients!!!

So as a thank you for your support we would like to extend a thank you to you!

If you book a portrait session between now and July 24th, you can book at the discounted session fee of $175!!!!

Now your session date doesn't have to fall between those dates, you just need to BOOK within those dates to get this special price.  So seniors, think about your Senior Portraits, or families, think ahead for your Christmas card photos!!!  If you've been meaning to call and schedule a session.... now is the time! :)  What are you waiting for... contact us today!

And.... well since it would just be weird to post without a photo.  Here is one of us having fun in the photo booth at Dustin & Jen's wedding back in April.  Thanks ProFinish Design for the photobooth photo!!!

Summer equals mohawks right??? Oh it doesn't for you?? Well it does in the Stewart home!
Every spring my kids start anxiously awaiting the end of the school year. Yes, like everyone else they are excited for the vacation time, but there's something more........ they can choose however they'd like to wear/cut/style their hair for the summer.
Since they attend a private school, they have a fairly strict conservative, dress code. And well..... if you've been reading our blog, or have known us for any period of time...... our family & style don't exactly always fit into a conservative norm.
So our WHOLE family looks forward to the summer where we can allow the kids let loose, and enjoy the freedom of childhood. Where they don't have to worry quite so much about conforming due to job/society requirements & expectations. Come spring we ask them what they'd like to do with their hair. Brian always goes for the fauxhawk and Regan always opts to grow his hair out to the shaggy surfer/skater look. Never before has Brian quite had the guts to fully commit and shave the true blue mohawk..... but this year he decided to take the plunge! He's been growing it longer the last month or so in anticipation, wanting his 'hawk to stand tall! haha
So the other night we took him into the back yard and proceeded to make our 9 year old the coolest boy on the block! (or at least in our eyes! haha)

Ummmm yeah, he decided to ues the extra hair cut off to start his mustache..... yeah..... I think you need to give it a few years Bri ;-)

Then he decided to comb would give him a bigger headstart.......

And here it is the next morning as we got ready to head out the door for VBS. Evidently the new style automatically gives the snarling upper lip like Billy Idolhahaha

And you can bet, come end of August we will all be fighting back tears as we have to cut their hair again to fit back in, standing out as an individual is SO much more fun!!!! ;-)

And now if you will excuse me, I have to run.... the kids are playing Rockband, and "Should I Stay, Or Should I Go" is on....... the guitar is calling my name!!!
