Ok, so it's not technically summer yet, but it sure does feel like it here in the Sacramento area! It's been roastin' hot here, and the kids are READY for lazy summer days. But if you remember your childhood, it's not all about lazy so much as active, imaginative, playful, FUN summer days! On one of these recent warm days, the boys took advantage of the nice weather by playing outdoors with a neighbor friend. For a long time now they've had a "fort" on the side of our house behind a shrub behind where we keep our garbage cans. Until recently the "fort" was nothing more than a semi cleared out area that they liked to hide and hang out in. But these resourceful boys (as so many boys are) decided to gather up as many supplies as they could between them, and make this a respectable fort with handmade furniture, an entrance and even bricks laid down for "flooring"! I was busy inside with the little ones and didn't get to see the process of their building, but when I came home that evening from a photo session, I was blown away by what they had accomplished! They built up a doorway around the hole between the two shubs, they laid down bricks for flooring, and even used some broken pressboard that was being thrown away and some firewood to make a bench and tables!! I am beyond impressed with these boys! They only had supervision from the dads when hammering, everything else was their doing! **Oh and before I get in trouble from Brian, I PROMISED I'd mention that for these photos I made him come out in his PJs, this is not his normal daytime attire. (he's already worried about his image) ;-) **

This is Rob and Amber, a super fun couple that we shot their engagement session last week in Roseville at Maidu park. Rob and amber both played softball and wanted to make that part of the focus as well as there dog. So we ventured out to the baseball diamonds first and we had alot of fun with this. They were prepared and brough tall of their equipment, as well as even took som eswings at each other pitching to one another. We ended on a nice walk on teh bike trail and found some really cool natural settings. We enjoyed photographing your session you two and can't wait to shoot your wedding in July!!!

This my friends is Austin!!!! HE is such a awesome kid to be around and cmon............HE LIKES TO PLAY GUITAR!!!!! Thats always good cause I play guitar and love music!!!! Last Saturday we meet up at a park in his neighboor hood. When i had talked to him a few days prior to our shoot, we always like to get a feel for our clients ahead of time, so I made a call and we chatted for a while on the phone. HE mentioned to me that he wasted to incorporate his guitars. GUITARS?????? as in 3 of them. Immediately I was stoked already for this shoot. When we started shooting I asked him what type of music influences you? HE said to me "OLD PUNK ROCK" Dude seriously.............thats only what type of music that Jen and I grew up with and still love today!!! He had also told me that he saw Elvis Costello and the Police last year!!!! Ummmmmmmmm yah that would have been one of the sickest shows to see!!!! Like I said, this was tons of fun and I really enjoyed chatting all day about music, and guitars, and music!!!!! Enjoy this teaser Austin cause i had tons of fun with you!!!

Last Thursday Jordyn and I went out and braved the sweltering heat for her senior portrait session. Was it worth nearly melting.... I think so!!! Jordyn is such a fun girl, we chatted about her interest in photography and her plans for the future, we tried our best to stay reasonably cool (haha, like that was possible in that heat!), and we busted out some pretty awesome photos! I LOVE when a senior has a fun colorful unique style, and Jordyn's colorful style radiated far beyond her clothing. Enjoy your teaser photos Jordyn, and have fun at graduation tomorrow!
I don't often take photos of the seniors in their cap and gown, but since her session was so close to graduation, she had it, and her mom has a photo of her from her kindergarten graduation in her cap & gown, she plans to have the two side by side on her table at graduation, too cute!
Gotta say, I LOVE this one!! Jordyn, thanks for braving all the weeds and that blazing sun for this photo!
These next two are my favorites from the session, and I JUST. CAN'T PICK. A. FAVORITE!!! What do you think?
Can't wait to share the rest of the photos with you!!

Everyone please can I have your attention cause this is the OTTO family and they are so much fun and are a super tight family and truly show their love for each other. If you remember Jessica Otto and her hubbie Nick from last year when we shot their wedding, they were such a great couple and when she had contacted us to shoot their family, we were so stoked. Now Jen is usually the master at family sessions and rocks it just about every time, BUT I wanted to DO WORK SON, and sadly Jen wasn't able to be there. So we met up in Old Sacramento, which is such a great place to do photos. We always see something different every time we go down there, which is great cause theres always variety. Jessica had mentioned to us that this session was going to be a surprise gift for their parent for their 25th anniversary, which is so cool and a awesome gift. Like i said this family is so cool. So let get right to it. MEET THE OTTO FAMILY!!!
Meet Mike and Vicky married 25 years!!! So cool!
SO much in Love with each other.
LOVE THIS SHOT!!!
So as it was their anniversary, Mike had Vicki's ring done up and he presented it to her down in Old Sacramento, and she was so excited to see it. It was a awesome moment! Here's the NEW BLING!!!
Love these moments right here.
So as I was saying this family was so cool and fun to work with so I asked them "smile as hard as you can" and well...............this was so funny that I had a hard time holding the camera still cause I was laughing so hard!! So just the Kids....
NOW EVERYBODY!!!!!
So at this moment it got really windy and there are tons of cottonwood trees down there and it looked like it was snowing at one point.
Probably one of my favs of the day.....
Like I said FUN!!!!!!!!
Love Vicky's Expression here......
Mike and his girls Jessica and Jill. So cute!
UMMMMMMMMMM can we say cute...................YUP!!
MY FAV!!!
We ended the evening with ice cream which was so perfect.
Jessica, your family is amazing!!! Mike and Vicky congratulations on your 25th anniversary!!! Hope you guys enjoy these teaser pics and I can't wait to share the rest with you all.
