The other night I gave myself a small challenge. It was time to tuck the kids into bed, Chris was tucking the big boys into bed, and I was tucking Aiden and Bella in.  I decided to grab my camera and take some photos of the kids.  I wanted to capture those little details that when I'm snuggling them I think about and just LOVE, like a chubby toddler's fingers, or the way Aiden always makes a fishy lips face when he's in an animated mood etc.

This is why for our portrait sessions I send out a questionnaire asking several questions about your family, or relationship so we can try to capture some of those small details that you want to remember forever.

So the other night, as Aiden and Bella were reading books I had some fun.

They both love books, they love being read to, looking through them on their own, if it's a book, they LOVE it! :)  I'm hoping they continue that love of books throughout their life.

Aiden now "reads" books to us.  I love hearing the story he creates just looking at the photos.  His story telling is a cross between making up a story, and imaginative play.  He will point to a photo, start telling the story he sees, then he points back and forth to different characters as they "talk" to each other.

I LOVE the "fishy lips" he gets when he's talking & in an animated mood!  He's done that since he was a baby, and it makes me sad to think that one day as he gets older it will be a memory of the past. (not that I want him making wierd faces like that as an adult!) haha

And I just love little hands, and how they change as they grow.  He's at that transition stage where his chubby toddler/baby fingers are becoming thinner, longer and his hands are turning into little boy hands, but they aren't QUITE there yet. :)  Soon he will have strong boy hands that will be calloused from all the hard play.

Bella however still have the super cute chubby fingers that I just adore.  I find myself, when playing with her sometimes, just watching her little hands and how she explores with them.  So many new things to learn about in this big world, and she's at the age where they wants to explore and touch EVERYTHING with those adorable chubby little fingers.

Aiden read us several books that evening, and he's such a good story teller, he even shows us the pages after telling the story! haha

This is one of those rare, SUPER QUICK moments that I just love.  Aiden and Bella love each other, but they are both at an age where they don't quite understand the other one & hugs general quickly go down hill to pushes and hits by the one who feels their space was invaded for too long for their taste. :) haha

Another thing I find myself wanting to remember forever, is Bella's adorable little chubby cheeks.  I just want to kiss those cheeks all day long.  I know I'm going to blink and she will have grown up and will loose all this baby chub, and I want to capture all these details and favorite angles of her now while I can.

She's trying to talk, and learn new words every day, and if you watch her closely, she is always rolling her tongue around in her mouth trying new sounds.

My happy little girl! (who's obsessed with the camera!)

like I said,I just LOVE her chubby cheeks!

Yes, I was TOTALLY in a hands mood. :) I don't know how many photos I took of both of their hands! haha

This photo captures not only our daily lives with our kiddos right now, and how eveything feels like a blur, but it also captures my feelings towards how I feel their lives and these important moments feel.  Like they are fleeting moments that are wizzing past us at breakneck speed.  And we need to record it now when we have the oportunity before they are all but a memory.

My currious little girl, she kept peeking out the blinds into our dark back yard.  I had to laugh at the contrast of her curriostiy, and Aiden's stage right now, which is fear of the dark.  He won't walk into a room at night, if the blinds are open (even if we are in the room, he will ask us to close the blinds first).

To close this post, this series made me LAUGH OUT LOUD!  I thought I was capturing a nice quiet moment of both kids reading books in Aiden's bed.

Then Bella decided playing with Aiden's hair would be more fun.  He was such a good sport, letting her pick and his hair.

When she didn't get any attention or reaction from him, she decided to take things a step further.......

That's when I put the camera down to break up the ensuing fight, (Bella's a burly girl!) and give both kids some snuggles before bed.

So now let me direct this to you, our loyal blog readers.

What do YOU want to remember forever about your children, spouse, significant other, and loved ones?

Are you recording those memories?

When you are taking those photos/videos, or going to someone to have them record them for you, are you making sure to convey what those details are that you love?

I know I'm not always as good about it as I'd like to be.  But I think this next week, I'll be pulling out the video camera more to capture their voices and mannerisms that cant be captured as well in still photos. And I'm now motivated that I need to schedule a family photo session for OUR family with a professional so that someone else can capture us as a FAMILY. :)

Ok, so I may have exaggerated when I said extravaganza......... but oh well, deal with it :) haha

It dawned on me recently that while we haven't been so busy we haven't posted on the blog much, we have kept up with our Twitter updates, including photos. You can view our Twitter updates above (just below the header photo) next to the little brown block with white bird. As I mentioned in a previous post, Twitter is a social networking site that allows you to post updates throughout the day that answer the question "what are you doing?" We even have it synced up with our Facebook status updates, so whenever we update our Twitter accounts (normally through our phones) it updates both Twitter and Facebook. You can subscribe to Twitter feeds and either have them texted to your phone, or check them online (and the iPhone and Blackberry both have great applications you can download to check & update Twitter through!). Click the following links to view and subscribe to mine & Chris' Twitter feeds. JenStewartPhoto and chrisstewart6
Chris and I have been able to keep in contact with our friends & colleagues through Twitter as well as I've found some great Twitter resources, such as News 10 (one of our local news stations) now has a Twitter account and posts headlines throughout the day that have a link to the story. I LOVE it!!!
The best part, Twitter is a free service, the only thing you'd ever have to pay for is if you send/receive Twitter updates via text, but if you have an unlimited plan as we do, you're in the clear (because trust me is DOES become addicting!) :) haha It's a lot of fun to be able to send an update during a wedding day, or share a funny quote and/or photo of the kids during the day that's not big enough for it's own post.
Anyway the point of my long rambling about our new love for Twitter is that I noticed recently that during this season of busyness, with not as fun managerial & organizational projects, we have neglected our blog a bit. But all of our loyal blog followers may have missed the many updates, and photos we've posted via Twitter! So I thought I would post some of those random photos here to share with all of you who have missed out on some of these updates over the last few months. And never fear, as the weather gets better and the photo session/wedding season pick up there will be lots more fun photo posts. But in the mean time, enjoy these photos I took from my iPhone and posted on Twitter!

One of our new regular events we are doing as a family is, "Family Movie Night". We make up a yummy snack, unfold our hide-a-bed from the couch, get in our jammies and snuggle and watch movies.  This was taken during Christmas vacation, we enjoyed many "Family Movie Nights" during break this year!

Here is Bella-bou at Christmas at Chris' brother's house.  I can't believe how big she's getting.  This was one of the first times I was actually able to get a little pony tail in her hair. And the one below that is Brian & Bella at the playground that same day.

And HERE is when I was able to get pigtails in Bella-bou's hair.  Awwwww my baby, isn't quite a baby anymore :(

One of the BEST gifts we Chris got for Christmas was gift certificates to dinner at The Elephant Bar, Starbucks AND BABYSITTING from my sister and Brother-In-Law! Last Saturday we put the gift to use and enjoyed a nice relaxing evening just the two of us.  No cutting anyone's food but our own.  Being able to eat our meal when it was still HOT, not having to tell anyone to "quite down", "sit down", "don't stare at the the people in the other booth, "don't hit your brother"...................... you get the picture :)  It was a WONDERFUL evening!  We had drinks, I had a mojito (Chris makes them best!), and thanks to Amber's suggestion, I tried a new drink a chocolate martini, YUM!!!!Then we headed over to Barnes & Nobel, grabbed some coffees and sat down and looked through some AMAZING fashion books full of eye candy, we are both SO inspired with some new ideas for our upcoming sessions!

Chris found this book and gave our friends at Kiss Wedding Books a hard time about the book, haha.

On Sunday we headed out to IKEA with the family. We are in the process of piecing together a new more efficient workstation, we are SO excited to get it all up and done!  Here is Chris & Bella-Bou enjoying their dinner. YUM, Sweetish Meatballs!!!!

And today I had planned on taking Aiden & Bella to Aiden's preschool fieldtrip to the police station.  But at the last minute it was postponed due to sick kids.  So since Chris is home sick for the week (poor guy!) I left Bella home to nap, and took Aiden to the library for some Mommy/Aiden time.  It was GREAT!  Can you tell my stack of books compared to Aiden's? haha

And finally a photo of my handsome date today!

Last Friday we kicked off our wedding season with a BANG!!!!!  What a way to get the season going, but with a BIG BANG of a post!  You may remember for Corey & Ashley from their rockin' engagement session back in October. Once again they ROCKED. IT. OUT!!!

We cant express enough HOW MUCH FUN THIS COUPLE WAS!!!!!!  The day was so perfect in everyway.  The sky was blue, the sun was golden, and..oh...........did i say that THIS COUPLE WAS SO MUCH FUN??????  The day started with Jen going with the girls to get all prettied up and stuff........and i broke away with the guys.  This is one of the coolest things for jen and I cause we are able to get both sides of the beginning of the day.

Da shoes.......LOVE IT!!

The guys were so Chill and just having breakfast, playing playstation, (I think its a law i think somewhere, in some book, that video games need to be involved in the groom's getting ready process, haha) Ashley looked amazing! She was so calm, and cool all day. After she had got her hair done she wanted to help everyone.  She has such a serving, giving spirit. She helped her sister with her makeup and helped style the flower girl's hair.  This photo is so classic, LOVE the flower girl's look while getting hair sprayed!

The guys were so cool that I felt that I made some new friends.  These guys were so funny and just played off each other that I had a feeling that the day was gonna be a good day.  Heres just a few of the guys getting ready for the day as well as some details of Ashley getting the finishing touches done with her mom.

Corey getting in the van to get to the church.

Corey and Ashley met before the wedding which is one of our favorite times of the day.  Its such a awesome moment when they see each other for the first time.

After Corey & Ashley had a few moments to themselves, we took them away for a bit and had some fun.

Heres Jen's View

Heres mine. Love how we have to different ideas with one pose.

Jen rocked this wedding in so many ways its not even funny :)

One of my favs Jen shot of the day. LOVE IT!!!!

After that we went outside and had some fun with the group.

Introducing the lllllaaaaaadddddiiiiieeeeesssss..........Looking good

and now mobbin it straight up.

The guys dont do pretty, they're guys, guys dont DO pretty so what did they do.....MOB IT!

Is this a scene from the Sopranos?  SO SO SO COOL!!!!  MY fav of the day.

RINGSHOTS!!!!!!!! SO we havent done this for a while but who shot what shot??????

We went back inside the church to get final details ready for the wedding and Jen went and took Ashley away for a bit and got these.  Like i said she was on it!!!

One of the flower girls saw Ashley and ran over to her and gave her a kiss and a hug.

Love this pic of Corey.

The best man and his list of things to do before everything.

Let the wedding begin.  Corey and his mom and Ashley and her dad getting ready to do the walk.

Coreys first look of her coming down the aisle.  Hes so happy!!!

As they were exchanging the rings Ashley started to put the ring on Corey's right hand instead of left.  I love the photo below with her reaction once she realized what she started to do.

and the kiss

After the ceremony, they had me come along in the lim to to Woodcreek Golf Club, and that's when they got crazy fun!!!!  Unfortunately for all of you........... it was soooooooooo much fun I cant show you all the pics from inside the limo. But I can show you these. And who's that guy at the bottom????  And that's how things got started in the limo, and it all went downhill (or uphill depending on your point of view) from there!! hahaha.  Enough said.

Once at the golf club the reception began.

Ashley and her dad had a beautiful dance together, then in the middle of the dance they switched it over to Soulja Boy and they BUSTED out with glasses and straight up getting down, then after a minute they went back to the slow dance.  It was so cool!!!

Corey and his mom.  A awesome moment.

then the party got started.........

Love these shots of corey and ashley gettin down.

at one point one of the groomsmen was comparing his point and shoot to my camera.  Good times. Gotta admit, his did beat me in the waterproof category haha!

Corey and Ashley, we had such a blast with you and your families and friends.  Like we said before this was a great way to start of 09!!!!!   Enjoy your honemoon and there might be a slideshow of the rest of the limo pics coming to you very soon.
