Wow, has a week already passed by since Christmas?  Just goes to show how busy everything has been, it's been quite a blur really.  This year, we had such wonderful Christmas celebrations with all our family, and from Christmas day on, we had celebrated each day with family.  By Sunday night, my body had had enough, and shut down on me.  Unfortunatly I've been sick in bed with a cold ever since (hence the reason it's taken a week to get Christmas morning up on the blog) :)

We had such a wonderful relaxing slow Christmas day.  We stayed home this year and just focues on our kids and family that day.  My parents stopped by in the morning and had a feast of a breakfast with us (THANK YOU Chris for making such an AWESOME breakfast!!!!)

We cut back this year on the piles of gifts, and we were worried at first how the kids would react.  But I have to say, it was probably one of our best Christmases.  The kids enjoyed each one of their gifts, and spent the rest of the day playing with them as a family.  What a perfect day!!

The kids woke up to a letter from Santa, which Brian read to everyone.

I LOVE the look on Regan's face when Brian read that Santa almost had to skip our house since they were up so late! hahaha

Then "opened his gift" which was a note written on wrapping paper telling him to look in the laundry room for his gift. :)

Next was Bella, who could really care less about opening her gifts, but now that she's figured out how to ride on her little horsey on wheels, she LOVES it! But I just LOVE this video of how she reacts to photos of her, can you tell he mommy & daddy take pictures of her often? :)  We know we can always make her smile by pulling out a camera and showing her a few photos of herself (hmmmmm, we may need to work on that narcissism) ;)

Then Aiden took his turn.  He's REALLY, and I mean REALLY into trains right now, so Santa brought him a Thomas The Train set.  He was SO excited!

Brian got an Eye Clops. That this is AWESOME!!!  He's brought it with him to every single one of our Christmas gatherings, and it's entertained everyone for hours.  It magnifies things by 200x and plugs into the TV so you can see everything.  I have to admit, I'm quite entertained by it!

The holy grail of baby gifts, Cheerios!!!!!!!

Bella LOVES her new cell phone toy, maybe now she won't steal my iPhone so much, (yeah right a girl can dream can't she) ;)

I love seeing how focused the kids are when they open their gifts, the anticipation, excitement, and gentleness (until they know what it is) is so great to watch!

Bella was so excited and happy through the whole morning.  I just love her expressive little faces she makes :)

Brian was excited to get dart refills for his nerf gun

and EWWWWWWW, all three boys got nasty fake teeth in their stocking and LOVE them!  Aiden however took some time to warm up to them, and wouldn't try them on Christmas day at all, I don't really blame him :) haha

Bella however, had no problem and tried out one of her brother's grody teeth.  haha

Not sure what's up with my look on  my face here, but I just LOVE Regan's expression.  It's so him right now.  He's always looking at us with this inquisitive look, checking if what he's doing is ok, and you can always see his joy and excitement right behind that questioning look :)

Merry Christmas everyone!!!!  We have another Christmas post coming with a Christmas Silly String war (you don't want to miss this!)  But that's all for today.

Have a Happy and safe New Year's celebration tonight.  I'm sad to say we had to cancel our New Years party because I'm still sick.  But I'm looking forward to a fun movie night with our family! :)

I have to admit, I have not been feeling the Christmas spirit this year. It's not that I've been grumpy, but just it's been so crazy busy, we haven't had time to slow down and really enjoy the holiday and all the meaning behind it.

And it didn't help that Chris and Aiden and I were sick on Sunday so we missed Sunday's Church Service as well.
It wasn't until this morning when I was thinking about these things that I realized that we needed to as a family, take time and reflect on not only the holiday, but the blessings we have been given this year. And man are we blessed! We have 4 wonderful children, each so different in personality. They are all such wonderful, fun, loving, smart kids, and seeing their giving spirits this Christmas has made me so very proud! We are blessed with steady income during these uncertain times. We are blessed with a support network of family and friends who truly love us and are here to not only help encourage, but also gently caution with reality when we may be straying from the path.

Chris and I aren't exchanging gifts this year, and I think the best gift Chris could have gave me this year was the text I received this morning, telling me he loves me, and that the best gift this year is me and the kids. I couldn't agree more Babe! And NOW my friends, I'm feeling the Christmas sprit, and am looking forward to the next several days with family and friends and celebrating the birth of our Savior!

On Saturday we did have our Christmas with my (Jen's) parents and sister's family. It was such a wonderful day! The kids are TOTALLY into spies and "spy gear" right now, so to start the day off they were given a gift to share at Nana & Papa's house A Spy Signal Launcher. They immediately took it down to the park down the street for the spy mission. :) Then after dinner we opened gifts and then the kids watched a kids movie, while the adults watched Batman: The Dark Night (AWESOME MOVIE!) It was truly a great day with our family!

I love these photos Chris got down at the park of Papa playing spies with the kids!

Oops, looks like someone must have ambushed him! :)

Yep, they sure did, see all the little spies in the bushes :)

Who's goofy kids are they? haha

And then during the madness of the gifts I just used the point and shoot to quickly grab a few.  Brian was so excited to get a Star Wars "how to draw" book.  His tallent in drawing truly blows me away!

Bella got her first little baby doll cradle from Nana, SO CUTE!!!

Chris er Regan, got the clone trooper voice changer, it's so big I think it fit the adults heads better than the kids.  You may be seeing Chris at the next Star Wars Convention! hahaha

And Bella-bou rockin her cutie patootie ponytail thanks to Auntie!  (I gotta tell you, this girl LOVES the camera, and comes RUNNING whenever she sees us pull one out!) haha

Have a Merry Christmas everyone!  Take time in the business of these next few days to stop and reflect on you many blessings and why you are celebrating the holiday, and ENJOY!

I'm off to snuggle my kiddos!

Here are a few more photos I've captured recently on our point and shoot camera. I can't believe how big Bella is getting! She's running around the house now, trying to talk and mimic people, and trying to participate in daily activities.

The other day Chris was sitting down folding our massive mountains of laundry, (it's really ridiculous how much laundry a family of 6 produces!)And Bella decided to come and "help". Not sure how much help she was considering it seemed she kept picking up the already folded laundry and "folding it" herself, then dragging it around the house or putting it back in the basket. But it was cute all the same! :)

And then here is my big girl with her first little ponytail.  She's had long enough hair for a while.  But I have to admit, I've been a mommy to boys all these years, and have struggled with perfecting the QUICK ponytail for little Bella-bou.  I was so proud of myself that I got this one in her hair I just had to grab a photo of it!  :)

Can you believe Christmas is only a few days away?  I don't know about you, but we are so far behind in preparing for the holiday season. We just got our Christmas tree up about a week ago, and it's not much to write home about. Wwe let the kids put the ornaments on as they'd like, so they are clumped up in the front/center, and I think Aiden was playing with the lights, because the strand in the middle of the tree is now not working, haha  We haven't even set up our own Christmas cards yet (how does a New Years card sound to everyone? Good? GOOD!) :)

BUT I'm so very very happy to say that on the business end of things everything is caught up and done and we now have this week to relax and chill (beyond our fun engagment/family session we will be doing tomorrow!)

Chris and the boys have been working on catching up around the yard when they get a chance.  And now I'm going to take this exra time to catch up the blog :)

Our tree is a never ending supply of leaves during the fall.  It seems we rake them, and a few days later, the lawn is covered once again.  The kids LOVE raking leaves (I'm not sure Chris shares their enthusiasm), so on this day I took our new handy dandy Point & Shoot camrea outside and took some photos of the fun.

You may have noticed the slight different in our watermark on these photos.  We decided after lugging around our much beloved pro photo gear to every gathering, fieldtrip, vacation and....... well, everything, that we needed to add a camera to our arsenal.  So we put to use all the awesome sales day after thanksigving and purchased a nice compact, easy to carry, easy to use, Point & Shoot camrea.  We are loving the ease of using this little guy, but just about every time I look at one of those photos, I also remember why we have the pro gear, and what I would have done to the photo to really make it look amazing!

Enjoy your holiday week....... I know we are! :)
