Baby Lucca and his big sister Ella

How is it that I am such a lucky girl that I get to spend my days with adorable newborns and their loving families???  On Tuesday I went and hung out with baby Lucca, who is just 2 weeks old, his big sister Ella, his Mommy, Daddy and his Grandma!

I think Lucca deserves the award for the most alert and content baby during a photo session.  Now mind you, most all of my newborn sessions are quite smooth, with the babies content either in their parents arms or even being moved from place to place.  But it's inevitable, babies are babies, and they get fussy, or sleepy, or messy or SOMETHING.  But little Lucca had his eyes open I would say all but the last few mintues of our time together.  He layed content as can be as we moved him around, bundled him, unbundled him, changed him etc.  Even Mom & Dad were a bit surpised.  I hope he slept well for you Tuesday night and he is just getting ready to get into a nice schedule for you two! :)

Yep, he melted my heart through the whole morning.  Look at this handsome little boy!

The gentleness and deep connection I felt throughout this family made me so happy.  Dad is just so gentle and completely in love with his two amazing children, I was filled with joy as I left their home after spending the morning with them.

Then as Mommy took care of feeding and changing Lucca Ella and Daddy and I went out back to play. Ella has the best laugh.  She loves playing with her Daddy, and I'm not sure who has more fun, Ella or Daddy ;)

I love to watch the older siblings faces when they interact with their new baby in those first few weeks.  I just wish I knew what Ella was thinking of this new little guy.

Grandma was able to make the trip out from the midwest in time for Lucca's birth, and has been able to stay to help Mom and Dad transition from one little one to two.  Ella is loving spending time snuggling and playing with her Grandma.

And I have a feeling Grandma feels the same way about snuggling and spending time with her two grandchildren ;)

Rob, Sarah & Judy

On Sunday we met up with a longtime friend and fellow photographer Sarah Dawson-Risucci, her husband Rob and their adorable fur baby Judy.  

 I gotta admit, it's a mix of excitement and nerves photographing another photographer.  On one hand you know that they understand the artistic process, and trying many different things during a session.  But on the other hand I second guess myself wondering how our direction during the session stacks up to theirs, how they will look at the photos with a "photographers eye", etc.  I know, I know, I get in the way of myself sometimes, but hey, what are you going to do, we're all human ;)

This session with Rob and Sarah started the same way, excitement and nerves, and if you guys couldn't tell in the begining, Chris and I were quite nervous :)  But as the session went on, Chris and I both relaxed into our groove and had a GREAT time with Rob & Sarah! They are both so fun, willing to try anything we asked of them, and we all were laughing through most of our time together.  Plus it's always fun to talk shop with another photographer! :)

Rob and Sarah (and Judy) enjoy your photos, and we need to get together sometime, grab some dinner or coffee or something!!!

Rob has us laughing through most of our time hanging out.  He often times goes on shoots with Sarah and helps assist her, so he know's the lingo and tricks photographers use to pose certain shots.  We wanted Rob to snuggle up to Sarah and he leaned in and asked, "Like I'm smelling her?" hahahaha

Kyle & Rachel, soaking up the warm sunset lighting

We have been looking forward to this photo session with Kyle and Rachel for about a month now. When we first met with Kyle and Rachel, after chatting for a bit we found out that not only does Chris work with Kyle's best man, but he also worked with Kyle for a short time a while back. They are such a fun couple and we are so looking forward to their wedding in February!

When they first showed up on Friday I was worried because Rachel wasn't feeling good, but we were all so relieved that after taking some advil she began to feel better. We headed out at the private pond in Kyle's neighborhood and soaked up the warm sunset lighting.

Baby Jack and his big sister Annabella

Last week I had the privledge of heading over to Valerie's house to take photos of newborn baby Jack and his big sister AnnaBella.  Jack is only 2 1/2 weeks old and is just as cute as can be!  I first had fun playing with AnnaBella.  I can't believe how big she's gotten, and am still in shock that she just celebrated her 2nd birthday!  She is talking to well, and is quite good at coloring!

and this is AnnaBella, look at how much she's grown in just a few short months!

 

 

 

 Then it was my turn to hang with Jack.  Ok, I have to admit, he's so sweet and snuggly I ALMOST was tempted to want another one.  ALMOST, but not quite!  haha.  I will just find joy in snuggling all the babies during my photo sessions! :)

 

I know how to take a hint, :) as I was finishing up the photos Jack stretched and put his hand over his face like no more! haha
