On Sunday, some of Sacramento’s raddest wedding vendors gathered at Negative Space Studios to learn from our own local Social Media Ninja Alejandro Reyes of Sacramento Marketing Labs for the Social Media Workshop for Wedding Vendors. Alejandro asked Jessica & Rashell of  Invitations Ink, and myself, to participate on the panel as vendors who are using social media and the information we’ve learned from Alejandro, to grow our businesses. Us girls were nervous to be on the panel (I certainly don’t consider myself an expert and I know Jessica and Rashell feel the same way about themselves) but we had a lot of fun answering questions and afterward getting to know the different attendees!

Alejandro did a GREAT job, everyone came away so excited to put the information Alejandro shared into action.  Heck I saw people taking action THAT DAY!!  It’s been fun this week seeing the action steps attendees are taking. He taught everyone about the power of blogging, Twitter, Facebook and other ways to use social media to position our brands as leaders within our market.

I’ve been working with, and learning from Alejandro for over 6 months now, and I have to say, I still learn something new from him, each time I hear him speak!  He is such a giver, he truly cares about those he is working with, and his workshop attendees.  I always look forward to his workshops!

Look at how focused everyone is… they are soaking all the knowledge in!

Chris and I are SO excited, we have been working so hard these last few weeks on our Capture Life Workshop. We’ve even posted a few things about it on the blog recently. We have put together a blog especially dedicated to the workshop, make sure to add the RSS feed to your favorite blog feed reader we plan to update it with info about the workshop, as well as some ideas and tips for your day to day family pictures.

Now that Jen and I are full time photogs, we are working harder then ever, but its good. Working at something we both have a passion for and love to do is very rewarding One of the things we love about our job, is pleasing our clients and seeing and orr hearing about their reactions to the photos. A few weeks ago Jen had done a family session for Danya, which was a totally cute session. After we had posted the gallery and slideshow, we received a email shortly after and we wanted to share her email with you. This is one of the reasons why we love what we do.

“OhMyGosh!!! Ok, with the music and everything, yeah… you totally brought tears to my eyes!!! You are magical!! I can’t wait to show this to Chris! How will I ever choose??! I just LOVE the Vintage Glam Weddings Blog, I’ve been following Amanda’s Twitter updates and blog for a while, and it’s everything a girl needs to find inspiration for her vintage wedding, or just plain love of vintage glam!

Funny story…. I wake up this morning to see her latest Twitter update saying “New blog post: 1940’s Engagement Session http://tinyurl.com/dmo3dz” I briefly thought to myself, hey we did a 40’s inspired engagement session, I should submit ours…

I went through the morning madness to get the kids out the door to school, as I’m driving them to school I see an email come through from Julie (my amazing cousin & May bride, who’s engagement session was the afore mentioned 40’s inspired theme). Her email tells me that she submitted her engagement session to Vintage Glam Weddings, and it’s been featured today!

HAHA, I start laughing out loud in the car thinking about my earlier thought this morning when I read the twitter update (yes, my kids thought I was a little crazy)!

Thanks Julie for submitting the session, you and Joe are the BEST!! Chris and I are SOOOOOOOO excited for your fabulous wedding in May! And Amanda, thank you for featuring my wonderful cousin’s engagement session! Just wait till you see the wedding!

Everyone I would like to introduce Zach!!! Say Hi everyone!!! Ok now that that is over with, I want you to best recognize!!!! This kid is so cool and was a blast to hang with, and wouldn’t you know, he likes skateboarding and urbanesque stuff like I do, so YEAH for us!!!! We headed down to the railroad tracks to start the session off and man I can’t say enough for the rail yard. So many cool things about it as well as DUH Grafitti all over the dang place!!! Zach has such a cool style and is very down to earth. I enjoyed talking with him and when we were heading back to the car, we saw a sign by the rail yard saying ” Warning, all trains are remote controlled in this yard” Both of us were like WHAT??????? Anyway Zach I hope you enjoy your teaser from our session cause I can’t wait to show you the rest.
