Oh my gosh can I say that this wedding was so dang fun. Zack & Sarah know how to have fun, and so do their wedding party- fo sho!! When Jen and I photographed their Engagement session last year, we wished we could photograph their wedding the next day, because these two were SO FUN. Zack has a sense of humor like me. (which is scary but very cool and probably why we connect and get along so well) Just saying And Sarah is gorgeous and her style is so cool. Jen and I started the day going our separate ways, as I dropped Jen off at the salon where Sarah was getting her hair and make-up done, and I took off to meet up with the guys at Greg’s house (one of the groomsmen). Now I show up to the guys house and I see turtleneck sweaters on the table and immediately i say “NO WAY”. A few months back when we met up with them at our house Zack had a idea for all of his guys to get into old school turtle neck sweaters and have fun taking cheezy photos like we all had in elementary school, well that’s what we did and it as SO funny!! Not only did they wear turtleneck sweaters, all they could find were women’s sweaters so they fit super snug. HAHAHAHAH I still laugh when I think about it.
Ok, back to the wedding…
It was a awesome day. We got to Granite Bay Golf Club and I got the guys into their room to hang out and chill and went to go see Sarah, and I was FLOOOOOOORRRREEEDDDD!!!! She looked stunning!!! From the start of the day, everything was amazing. From the special handshake Sarah’s Dad and Zack incorporated into the ceremony when Dad gave Sarah to Zack, to seeing Zack cry when Sarah walked down the isle, to the touching toasts and speeches and first dances, it was an amazing day!!
Zack & Sarah enjoy your blog post and we can’t wait to show you the rest of your awesome wedding day photos soon!!

OK so remember when I told you the guys wanted to wear those awesome turtle neck sweaters…….yah this is just one of the many shots we took. So funny.

BLING BLING – RING RING

This was a cool idea. Each of the bridesmaids wrote her name on the bottom of Sarah’s shoe. The tradition says that at the end of the night, which ever name is darkest, that girl will have good luck through the coming year. So the question is, Sarah….. who’s name was darkest at the end of the night???

So Lovely!!!

Right before the ceremony a proud dad smiling and waiting to walk down the isle with his daughter.

So here is Sarah and her dad walking down the isle………..

and this was Zack’s reaction to seeing Sarah for the first time that day!!

Love this moment! Zack was whispering something to her right before the ceremony started.

The Kiss!!!!

LOVE.THIS!!!!!

and THIS!!!!

I love this moment. Sarah was doing a short speech and thanking everyone that made their day happen. She looked over at Zack and just was so happy that she could call him her husband.

Party time!!!

Haven’t we all heard that comment before? I came across a great article today that addressed just this. Not written by a wedding photographer, but by an amateur photographer, who tagged along at a wedding with 2 wedding photographers, and learned just what goes into wedding photography.
Now I know that our wonderful blog readers, and clients understand the importance of hiring a seasoned professional photographer to memorialize the important memories of their wedding day. So if our blog readers, and clients understand the importance of hiring a professional, why post this? Because maybe you know a friend or loved one who is getting married and you’ve heard them say this.
The wedding photos after all, are often times, the only memories a bride and groom has to remember their day through. The day is such a blur of activity and emotion, it’s often hard to remember any of it. At least that’s the way it worked for Chris and I!
Please take a moment to go and read the article Pros of Hiring a Pro

Last weekend Jen and I went to Sierra View Country Club to photograph Luke and Noknoy’s wedding!! These two were so perfect to kick off our wedding season for 2010! From their engagement session, to their wedding day these two know how to have fun. The day started with Jen meeting up at Sacco Salon to watch Lisa do her magic with Noknoy’s hair. I went and met the guys at the club and chilled with the guys cause lets face it, on a wedding day the guys are chill and just hanging out or having a drink, or playing Wii, ( yes I have been known to kicking the guys butt at homerun derby on the Wii ). The day was so much fun and the families of both sides are way cool. From getting ready, to the wedding party shots, to the moments before the ceremony, the ceremony etc, like I said it was a great way to kick off our wedding season. Luke & Noknoy you two are so cool and we had such a rad time being apart of your special day. Enjoy this teaser!!!
Isn’t Noknoy gorgeous???? Yes she is.

These two are so much fun.

On Sunday, some of Sacramento’s raddest wedding vendors gathered at Negative Space Studios to learn from our own local Social Media Ninja Alejandro Reyes of Sacramento Marketing Labs for the Social Media Workshop for Wedding Vendors. Thank you Carmen Salazar Photography for providing the location!!
Alejandro asked Jessica & Rashell of Invitations Ink, and myself, to participate on the panel as vendors who are using social media and the information we’ve learned from Alejandro, to grow our businesses. Us girls were nervous to be on the panel (I certainly don’t consider myself an expert and I know Jessica and Rashell feel the same way about themselves) but we had a lot of fun answering questions and afterward getting to know the different attendees!
Alejandro did a GREAT job, everyone came away so excited to put the information Alejandro shared into action. Heck I saw people taking action THAT DAY!! It’s been fun this week seeing the action steps attendees are taking. He taught everyone about the power of blogging, Twitter, Facebook and other ways to use social media to position our brands as leaders within our market.
I’ve been working with, and learning from Alejandro for over 6 months now, and I have to say, I still learn something new from him, each time I hear him speak! He is such a giver, he truly cares about those he is working with, and his workshop attendees. I always look forward to his workshops!

Look at how focused everyone is… they are soaking all the knowledge in!

If you missed the workshop, don’t worry, there was such an AWESOME response, Alejandro will be doing another workshop next month this time it will be the SEO Wedding Workshop!! make sure to Follow Alejandro on Twitter for more information about the workshop once it’s ready! you WON’T want to miss it!
UPDATE: You can now register for the next workshop!! SEO & Video Marketing Workshop For Wedding Vendors
Did you attend the workshop, what have you put into action since Sunday? Want to come to the next one, what do you need to work on most? Would love to hear from all of you in the comments below! (you bloggers know how a new comment alert makes a bloggers day!!)
Have a great day everyone!

Two weeks ago, I got the opportunity to shoot with Colin Michael from San louis Obispo. I met him a few years ago back at a photographer convention that was actually held in his town. Since that time Colin has become a great friend and one of the coolest photographers to not only shoot with, but to learn from. His work is so clean and simple and stylish, you can’t help but be drawn to his work. I drove down on friday night and stayed at his house to get ready for the next day shooting Ashley and Brandt’s Wedding at Robert Hall Winery.
The Wedding was spectacular and there was so much love that surrounded Ashley and Brandt. Colin, thank you again for letting me shoot with you again. Your family and hospitality was so appreciated.

One of the best smiles ever.

Love the first look every time!!!!

One of my favorite shots of the day.

Before the big kiss.

Love that!!!!!!!

After the kiss, the bridesmaids and groomsmens had planned out gestures once they kissed. So loved that!!

A little over a week ago, we went to Glenn Ellen, in the wine country to go photograph Jeffrey & Andi’s Wedding at the Jack London Lodge. This place was very cool, simple, and sophisticated. Now if you don’t remember Jeffrey & Andi from their engagement session they were a fun couple that are trully in love with each other and love to have fun, and that showed on their wedding day. The day was beautiful, and a tad hot but that didnt effect the day nor Jeffrey and Andi one bit. Their ceremony was very simple and stylish, with bursts of green and orange and yellow. Now this wedding I really enjoyed cause it wasn’t too big and that made the day even more intimate for them and the families. You got a sense of excitement in the air, and happiness and it showed. This ceremony was so emotional. Tears of joy and happiness were flowing from both sides of the families and when the parents came up to bless the rings, it was trully a awesome moment. The whole day was amazing and I was blessed to have been there with Jen shooting the wedding. Jeffrey and Andi, we hope you guys enjoy this teaser from your wedding, and enjoy your honeymoon. We can’t wait to show you the rest from your special day.
The Bling!!!

I WANT THIS SHIRT!!!

Gorgeous dress!!!

The grooms accessories for the special day!!!

I loved these next 2 shots. Andi was going to her room to get ready and peaked in where Jeffrey was and gave him a quick kiss. So cute!!

Such a proud Mom!!!

First Look.

Love that!!

So one of the many reasons we loved Jeffrey & Andi is that they wanted to do something different with their wedding pictures and……………well……………..WE LOVE IT!!!!

So beautiful!!!!

Right before the ceremony started, Andi & her mom were talking and hugged. I love my job!!!

The Decor was so cool. I loved the burst of color all around. PLus what a great idea for table setting then with a simple green apple, and the leaves in the stem having their name on it. So cool!!!

Love that shot!!

Happy Family!!!

It was a tad hot that day. Love this moment though.

Blessing of the rings.

Such Happy Parents.

Love that!!

Last Weekend Jen and I drove up to Lake Almanor to the town of Chester to meet up with Dustin & Jordan, and photograph their beautiful wedding. Talk about a great town that has the look and feel of Tahoe, BUT BETTER!!! ( In my opinion) We drove up Friday evening and stayed at this really cool Bed and Breakfast called The Bidwell House. Talk about a cozy place, and the breakfast was OUTSTANDING. 3 course breakfast every morning was OK with me!! Saturday came and Jen and I got ready to go. Jen met up with Jordan right across the way from where we were staying. I went and met the guys at a cabin right by the lake. The wedding party met at this really cool, old, rundown barn that was HUGE, and made for great shots outside……………..and inside. Once we got inside it was amazing!!! Old wood that was exposed to the elements had aged the wood to have a unique look. I told Dustin “Dude you should have got married here”. It was tons of fun there that I dodnt want to leave the area, but we kinda had to cause DUH their not getting married at the barn. ( but they should have, in my opinion of course)
This wedding was flawless from beginning to end as we had plenty of time to get the shots we needed, and even had time to go back to the babin with the wedding party and chill and chat with them. Good times, Good times!! As the day went well, it was also a emotional day for Dustin and his family. Such emotion flowed from them, as there were times when he was getting his jacket on and his mom came into the room and just was filled with joy and happiness seeing her son getting married, to another time with Dustin, his mom and dad exchanging little gifts before the ceremony, and seeing all of them with tears in their eyes, it almost made me want to tear up. The ceremony was simple, and beautiful. What can i say except we had tons of fun shooting their wedding. Dustin and Jordan enjoy your teaser from your wedding. We can’t wait to show the rest to you.

The dress was stunning.

Love this shot of his mom tying his tie for him and just smiling with happiness.

Love the ring shot Jen got.

So remember that old rundown barn I was telling you all about?
BAMMMMMMM!

First Meet!!

LOVE………………THIS……………….BARN!!!!

Dustin’s Sister came up to him and once she saw him, the tears of joy started flowin.

Making our way to the inside of the barn.

OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH…………………MYYYYYYYYYY…………….GOSH!!!!!!! See I told you!!

The guys!!!! BAAAAAMMMMMMMM!!!!

LOve this shot Jen. Cowgirl UP!!!

1……..2…………………..3!!!!

Loved the colors.

Jordan peeking around the corner.

Walking with her dad.

The ringbarrier, and flower gilrs were WAY to cute!!

THE KISS!!!!

Seriously loved his sister. She came up to Dustin after the ceremony and hugged him so tight.

This girl was hilarious. SHe had the flowers in her hand and totally starting ripping the pedals off of them and threw them on the ground.

Time to get our grub on and seriously we DID!!! BBQ chicken, and TRP-TIP. SOOOOOOOOO GOOOOOOD!!!

Loved the toast speeches.

So cool!!!

Time for dancing.

First dance.

Father/Daughter dance.

Mother/Son dance.

Jordan’s Parents.

This little girl was so cute. Jen took a picture of her and wanted to see it after. Priceless.

Also this boy cracked me up cause he was playing with the bubble machine the dj provided, and attempted to karate chop each bubble.

Jens favorite dance shot EVER!!!

We had a great time with Dustin & Jordan.
